Merry Marylebone: Activities to enjoy on the day
Enjoy fun and festive activities at this year’s Merry Marylebone Christmas Lights switch on event!
Santa Claus is coming to Marylebone Village
We’re excited to be bringing back the ever popular Santa’s Grotto to Marylebone High Street on Wednesday 13th November from 3-7pm. Families can enjoy a magical meet and greet with the jolly man himself who will be ho-ho-hoing and dishing out gifts to children. You may also see Mrs Claus roaming around the event spreading Christmas cheer!
Donations will be set at £7, with all proceeds going towards this year’s charity partner Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.
The Santa’s Grotto will be located in Marylebone Gardens (behind the Church) at the top of Marylebone High Street.
Bauble decorating workshops
This year, add a touch of personalisation to your Christmas tree by decorating your own bauble for everyone to see! Join creative lifestyle brand Hello Marilu as they host a workshop in Marylebone Village on 13th November for the annual Christmas light switch on event.
You’ll learn the art of brush lettering and be able to add personal touches to your bauble. You will be given a ceramic bauble with a gift box to take home with you, as well as paints, brushes and worksheets for inspiration. So, whether you are a minimalist or maximalist, let your imagination run wild and leave with another festive addition to your home, or a great handcrafted gift for a loved one.
There are 3 x 1 hour slots, each with 18 available spaces. This workshop is ideal for children aged 12+ and of course adults who want to get creative this November.
Each ticket costs £25pp, and all proceeds, including ticket sales, will be donated to this year’s charity partner, Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity) to help give seriously ill children the best chance, and childhood, possible.

Festive wreath making workshops
We all know Christmas is coming when festive wreaths start to appear on front doors, and this year you could be hanging up your very own seasonal design. At the Merry Marylebone Christmas Light switch on event, join The Flower Appreciation Society for a series of Christmas wreath making workshops.
Using the fresh seasonal, evergreen foliage and decorations that are provided, start from scratch and make a wreath you are proud to hang on display throughout the festive season. These will also come with a beautiful Marylebone Village ribbon to hang your creation. Make sure to book your slots before they all go, there will be 3 x 1 hour slots during the event to create a festive wreath to take away with you. Each slot has 20 spaces available, with a 5-minute grace period, so be prompt, otherwise your space will be given away on the evening.
