Merry Marylebone: Our charity partner

We are excited to announce that Marylebone Village will be raising funds in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity at the annual Merry Marylebone Christmas Lights Switch On event taking place on Wednesday 13th November from 3pm-8pm.

Great Ormond Street Hospital is one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals in the world and one of the most technologically advanced. It is an international centre of excellence in child healthcare. Since its formation in 1852, the hospital has been dedicated to children’s healthcare and to finding new and better ways to treat children with illnesses.

Experts at Great Ormond Street Hospital see around 76,000 children each year in around 250,000 admissions and appointments. Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at Great Ormond Street Hospital from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care, 333 operations are performed daily and at least one child has a life-changing operation per day.

While the NHS funds the day-to-day running of Great Ormond Street Hospital, it has always depended on charitable support to make it extraordinary and Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity depends on supporters like us to make it happen.

Throughout the event there will be a range of festive activities for all ages in full swing with 100% of all proceeds being donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. These experiences include wreath making and bauble decorating workshops and a Santa’s grotto. There will also be the ever-popular charity tombola which will be offering the chance to win fantastic prizes from a host of Marylebone Village brands, including a night’s stay in one of The Marylebone Hotel’s Studio Suites, a V V Rouleaux Christmas wreath with a value of £300, a festive hamper from Bayley & Sage, dinner for two at Carlotta, a pair of hoop earrings from Mejuri and a 30-day membership at Third Space.

There will be contactless tap payment points located at each activity across Marylebone Village, where you are able to donate a contribution in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

What your money could buy

  • £5 could help their Play team bring fun and laughter into the hospital
  • £10 could fund cutting-edge equipment to deliver better care to children at GOSH
  • £20 could help to provide accommodation so families can be close to their children when they need it most
  • £30 could fund a session of music therapy for a child who needs extra support during their stay
  • £40 could cover the cost of one night’s stay in their family accommodation, so parents can stay minutes, not miles, from their child’s bedside while they receive life-changing treatment and care

We look forward to celebrating with you in Marylebone Village on Wednesday 13th November.
